Walking routes in Tricity
When going to Pomerania or Tricity, you are probably wondering how you will be able to actively spend your time...? When staying in such a beautiful place, it is worth leaving the hotel at least for a moment to fully appreciate the beauty of the area. Fortunately, Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot are surrounded by the Tricity Landscape Park. The location among the forests surrounding the Tri-City and numerous tourist trails crossing them provides great opportunities for outdoor activities, spending time among beautiful nature and enjoying the charms of the Kashubian landscape during walks.
Tourist trails in Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot
Instead of going to the center of the crowded (especially in the season) city of Gdynia, Sopot or Gdańsk and wandering among hotels and galleries, we suggest taking a leisurely walk on one of the many marked tourist trails in the surrounding area. This is a great opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the landscape of Eastern Pomerania.
Below are some suggestions for the most famous hiking trails in Gdańsk and the surrounding area (although it's nice to get lost sometimes). Where to go for a walk in Tricity? In which areas should I book a hotel to have the best access to tourist attractions? Which routes should you choose to get the best views? Where can you see the most interesting specimens of fauna and flora?
Tricity Trail
The most famous, chosen as a walking destination much more willingly than other tourist trails in Gdańsk, also called the Tricity Hills Trail. It is almost 50 km long and runs through the administrative borders of Gdynia and Gdańsk, which definitely facilitates access from most hotels or guesthouses, even using public transport. It is worth traversing at least the part located in the immediate vicinity, adapting the route to your capabilities. The route is very varied, it also leads through beautiful forest areas and stops at viewpoints. This is a yellow trail, available for beginners and intermediate users. It is only partially accessible by bicycle due to the very diverse terrain, so we recommend walking it.

- Sanctuary of Our Lady of Pregnancy in Matemblewo

- Devil's Stone in the Oliwa Forest
Gdynia Trail Kępa Redłowska
choosing hotel in Sopot or Gdańsk, we do not have to limit ourselves to visiting only these cities. Gdynia has just as much to offer us, so it's worth finding time to walk there as well. Walking along the cliff coast, which is up to 65 meters above sea level, we have the opportunity to admire the Swedish mountain ash, a protected tree species found only in Pomerania, the remains of the firing positions of the 11th Permanent Artillery Battery from the 50s and beautiful views from Redłowski Promontory to the Bay of Gdańsk.
The viewpoint, the tower in Kolibki shows a wonderful view of the Bay of Gdańsk, forests, buildings and is the perfect culmination of a walk in this area. It is worth climbing the stairs to the very top of the tower. We cannot forget about Kamienna Góra (a district of Gdynia, which also offers a panoramic view of the Bay and the city), considered one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area.

Motława Trail
This is the main Żuławy Gdańsk Trail, which runs almost entirely along the Motława River. The entire route is over 40 km long and runs from Gdańsk to Tczew. It runs through many charming villages and also near the Vistula River.
The most interesting points of this route:
- Ruins of the Teutonic castle in Grabiny-Zameczek
- Brick churches
- Batorowy Ostańec – a Pleistocene hill near Grabin-Zameczek
- Flood embankments along the Vistula River
