Alcohol minibars

MINI-BAR

A minibar is a useful service in a hotel room.

It is worth knowing that it was not always standard. The history of the first minibars dates back to the 50s. At that time, their form was slightly different from today - they simply included free drinks in the room. In the 60s, refrigerators began to be used, and it was only Robert Arnold, in 1976, who introduced the first minibar in the form we know today, i.e. with paid mini bottles of strong alcohol. By the 70s, the Hilton hotel chain was the first to introduce minibars in all of its hotels around the world, and other properties followed suit.

Today, minibars have become an almost indispensable element of equipment.

Especially in the rooms of three- and four-star hotels. Guests can use small bottles of chilled alcoholic beverages, beer, water, juices, and snacks such as chips, nuts and bars.

More and more hotels are deciding to include healthy food in their minibars, such as vegetables cut into sticks or day-old juices. Some accommodation facilities also join in spreading local patriotism by stocking products from local producers in their minibars, such as organic vegetable chips or beer from small craft breweries. Such diversity in the selection of products certainly makes the minibar service more attractive.

The more luxurious the hotel, the more luxurious products we can find in the minibar.

Starting from expensive, exclusive wines and champagnes, through long-term whiskeys, to a wide selection of various mineral waters.

Although there are places where minibar products (or a limited part of them) are included in the price of the stay, in most places it is still an additional fee. During our stay at the hotel, the floor staff replenishes our minibar every day, and the products we use are added to our bill. Most often, settlement for this service takes place at the time of check-out from the hotel. As a hotel guest, it is worth remembering that the facility is obliged to place the current price list of the minibar in each room.

Bayjonn Hotel Sopot, of course, also offers its guests a wide selection of products in the minibar. This option is especially beneficial in beach hotels, because we most often use their services in the summer, when the days are hot and the thirst is strong.
