From the series: "Places in Tricity that you must visit..." - Malinogród in Gdynia
The Malinogród horticultural farm consists of three plantations; one in Gdynia and two, 6 km outside Pruszcz Gdański (Kaczki).
However, we focus on the beautifully situated soft fruit plantation (raspberries, blackberries and blueberries) in Gdynia. The location is absolutely unique, because when entering from the main street of Gdynia (from the Karwina or Sopot district) - about 1 km into the forest - we see a paradise view of a green plantation, surrounded on all sides by forest.
This is the Tricity Landscape Park.
One wonders how - such a charming piece of wonderful greenery - survived in the increasingly (unfortunately!) concrete city?! The drone flight shows that the distance from the plantation to the sea is less than 2 km, so the location of the plantation is spectacular.
The plantation has been located in Gdynia since 1978.
and the current owners run it as the second and third generation. If it weren't for social media in recent years and the fact that we are all more and more hungry for a break from the rush of everyday life, this green piece would not be known to such a wide audience. Malinogród is a green oasis of respite, a wonderful landscape for lovers of photography, painting and more..
Two years ago, Malinogród became famous throughout Poland,
because they opened the first self-service point (right next to the plantation). The trust shop - as the hosts called it - offers fresh fruit every day (delivered straight from the bushes in season), juices, preserves, health-promoting shots (without added sugar) and more. The assortment is constantly expanding. The store is self-service - you can pay for purchases in cash, card or BLIK to the provided telephone number. It offers tasting fresh juices and in winter the opportunity to drink hot raspberry juice or warming tea with juice. The latter option is highly appreciated by enthusiasts of walks on autumn and winter days.
Coming back to the summer season and the sun (we all love them!!), the hosts of Malinogrod proposed self-harvesting in last seasons. As the name suggests, you can come to the plantation and pick the fruit yourself at designated times. Of course, we settle them later, but the opportunity to commune with nature and spend time with the family outdoors is a great proposition - pro-family! 😉 As the hosts assure - bellies can be filled with fruit for free ;))
Following numerous, very positive opinions about Malinogrod on the Internet, we can see that this 'entertainment' was liked by many families... And that's great! The entire self-picking process is supervised (from a discreet distance) by smiling company employees - which is not surprising, considering how much work the owner puts into maintaining this beautiful corner and producing sweet raspberries, of course!
This place should absolutely be on your TOP list to visit – especially on a sunny summer day! Such a visit will remain in our memory for a long time 😉
